CANBY, Ore. – Oregon junior Sulman Raza won the 63rd Oregon Men’s Stroke Play Championship by way of a playoff at the Willamette Valley Country Club in Canby, Ore., on Sunday.
Raza shot a 5-under 74-67-70 at the three-day, 54-hole championship to tie with Justin Wiles at the conclusion of Sunday’s final round and send the championship to a sudden-death playoff. After both parred the first three holes, Raza bested Wiles with a par on the par-4 fourth hole to seal the victory.
After turning in a 2-over 74 in his first round, Raza sank six birdies on his way to a 5-under 67 on Saturday to jump to within one stroke of the leader heading into the final day of play.
