EUGENE, Ore. — A showdown between ranked teams turned one-sided before halftime Friday, as the No. 3 Oregon women's basketball team beat No. 12 Arizona, 85-52, helped by senior Sabrina Ionescu's 24th career triple-double.
The Wildcats closed within two points midway through the second quarter, but Oregon scored the final 10 points of the period capped by a buzzer-beating three-pointer from Satou Sabally. That gave the Ducks a 39-22 lead at halftime, and they were never threatened over the final 20 minutes.
Early in the fourth quarter, Ionescu fed fellow senior Ruthy Hebard for consecutive UO baskets that gave Ionescu her NCAA-record 24th triple-double.
