Hughes was originally recruited to Tulane in 2022 as a mid 3-star (.8541) in the 24/7 composite. He redshirted that year as he rehabbed a knee injury, though it’s unclear whether he’s applied to the NCAA on medical hardship or if that’s a regular redshirt.
To begin 2023, Tulane was replacing their two-year starting running back and 3rd round NFL draft pick Tyjae Spears, returned a couple of his able backups in #8 RB Celestine and #2 RB Clayton-Johnson, brought in a grad transfer from Liberty #0 RB Louis, and were excited about a new prep recruit they’d beat out Nebraska for, #20 RB Barnes.
