Pritchard Named USBWA District IX Player of the Year

INDIANAPOLIS – A day after being named Pac-12 Player of the Year, Payton Pritchard was named the U.S. Basketball Writers Association District IX Player of the Year on Tuesday.

He is just the second USBWA Player of the Year from Oregon following former teammate Dillon Brooks (2016). Pritchard was also named to the 2020 all-District IX team. District IX includes colleges from the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Oregon and Washington.

According to Bleacher Report, which selected the West Linn, Ore., native as a first team All-American on Monday, Pritchard is on pace to become just the third major-conference player in the past 25 years to average 20 points, five assists and four rebounds per game while shooting 40 percent from three-point range.
