For years, South Medford wide receiver Chase Cota has been viewed as an up-and-coming prospect.
Some of that, of course, comes from being the son of University of Oregon hall of fame safety Chad Cota, but that hype deteriorates quickly if kids don't deliver.
And Cota certainly has.
The 6-foot-4, 190-pound pass-catcher is a U.S. Army All-American and is one of the fastest receivers in the country over six-feet tall, which is why he holds offers from Alabama, California, Georgia, Notre Dame, Oregon, UCLA, USC and many others.
Earlier this week, Cota indicated that while he is open to all seven of his aforementioned finalists, Notre Dame, Oregon, UCLA and USC have begun to separate from the pack.
