Lost in the discussion of the playoff and “Who is Oregon going to play?” and “How hard would the path to the national championship be” is the fact that just over two weeks from now Oregon will be returning to the greatest bowl venue in college football. The Granddaddy of them all, the Rose Bowl. Like all great traditions the Rose Bowl is always played at the same time in the Calendar year. When in the Pacific Northwest it feels like nobody has seen the Sun for 2 months and won’t see it again for another 2 months the sun shining through from the San Gabriel mountains onto the field to start the game always gave me a pro-found sense of hope.
