Following practice Tuesday, a group of Oregon upperclassmen organized by strength and conditioning coach Jim Radcliffe visited Center for the Intrepid, a rehabilitation facility for amputees and burn victims adjacent to the San Antonio Military Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston.
UO head coach Mark Helfrich also joined the group for Tuesday’s visit.
The mission of Center for the Intrepid is to provide rehabilitation for troops who have suffered amputation, burns or functional limb loss; education for Department of Defense and Department of Veteran’s Affairs professionals on cutting edge rehabilitation modalities; and research in orthopedics, prosthetics and rehab techniques.
