Payton Pritchard's 22 points drives Oregon basketball past Portland State

EUGENE -- With an opponent willing to let one of the nation's best points guards to drive the lane, Payton Pritchard wasn't going to resist.

The Oregon junior scored 18 of his 22 points in the first half thanks to multiple layups down the middle of the lane and doled out two of his three assists on alley-oops from there as well to lead No. 14 Oregon to a 84-57 win over Portland State before a crowd of 8,212 at Matthew Knight Arena on Tuesday.

It was the eighth career 20-point game for Pritchard, who returned to the floor as expected after missing Oregon's exhibition with Western Oregon on Nov.
