EUGENE -- Oregon's Sabrina Ionescu, last year's winner of the Nancy Lieberman award as the nation's top point guard, was named to the preseason watch list for the award this season.
Ionescu, who averaged 19.7 points, 7.8 assists and 6.7 rebounds per game last season, is among 20 players on the preseason watch list announced by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Monday.
The candidate list, which can be changed throughout the season, will be narrowed to 10 players in mid-February and five finalists will be presented to Lieberman and the Hall of Fame's selection committee in March.
