Oregon's Royce Freeman named Doak Walker Award semifinalist

Oregon senior Royce Freeman was named a semifinalist for the Doak Walker Award, given to college football's top running back, on Friday.

UO's all-time leader in rushing and all-purpose yards, Freeman is 11th all-time in college football history with 5,364 yards and is one touchdown away from claiming Oregon's all-time TDs record.

Previously this season, Freeman was named a semifinalist for the Maxwell Award, which is given to the country's top individual player.

This season, Freeman has accounted for 1,218 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns and 1,362 all-purpose yards overall. He has rushed for 100 yards or more in seven games, including four straight entering Saturday's 4 p.
