Oregon's football coaches matching donations to $250,000 to help program for low-income students

Oregon's football coaches will match donations of up to $250,000 toward a University of Oregon program that benefits low-income high school graduates from the state, the school announced Wednesday.

Students eligible for PathwayOregon receive full tuition, fees and advising support, and the university says 1,700 students have taken part in the program since the first class of Pathway students enrolled in 2008.

To take part, students must qualify for the federal Pell Grant; graduate from an Oregon high school within two years of enrolling at the university as a first-time freshman; and have earned a 3.40 GPA.
