Oregon began the weekend looking to use a series sweep against 9th place Washington to pad their resume in the fight for positioning in the Pac-12 tournament. Instead, the Ducks allowed the Huskies to come back and win on their home field.
The game began as a pitchers’ duel between Oregon’s RJ Gordan and and Washington’s Max Fraser. In the first two innings, Gordan allowed only a single base hit while Fraser allowed none. But in the top of the third the Ducks’ bats woke up as a home run single from Maddox Moloney, a double from Bryce Boettcher, and a 2-RBI homer from Mason Neville gave Oregon a 3-0 lead.
