The state of Oregon was represented heavily Monday when the Naismith Trophy, awarded annually to women's college basketball's top individual, announced it had cut down its list of candidates to 30.
Oregon State senior center Marie Gulich and Oregon sophomores Ruthy Hebard and Sabrina Ionescu made the list, as did Tennessee's Jaime Nared and Mercedes Russell, who each were high school standouts in the state.
Gulich, also a finalist for the Lisa Leslie Award for top center, averages 16 points and 9.0 rebounds per game -- marks that rank eighth and second in the Pac-12, respectively -- while shooting 63.
