EUGENE -- Oregon is hoping better play in other phases and overall execution will help its special teams improve following a disastrous performance in last week's loss at Arizona.
The Ducks had a punt blocked, failed to get out of the way of a live ball on a punt, fumbled but recovered on a kickoff return and allowed a 24-yard punt return against the Wildcats.
Oregon coach Mario Cristobal said the missed block on the punt and fumble were "inexcusable" and also cited 84 defensive plays as taking a physical toll on some of the players who also play special teams.
