EUGENE -- Oregon softball is losing one of its All-American pitchers and designated player.
Junior Miranda Elish, who led the Ducks with a 25-2 record, 1.20 ERA, 249 strikeouts and .171 batting average against en route to being named a second team All-American last season, and sophomore designated player Lauren Burke, who hit .351 with three home runs and 17 RBI as a Pac-12 All-Freshman honoree last season, both announced their intentions to transfer on Thursday.
"I want to start off by saying I am forever grateful for the opportunity I had to play softball at one of the best universities in the country," Elish wrote in a message via Twitter.
