The Oregon Ducks defeated the Cal Bears on Saturday night in Eugene, but the win came at a cost.
While rushing for a touchdown that gave Oregon a 17-0 lead late in the first quarter, Herbert injured his collarbone and was taken out of the game. Later, it was confirmed that Herbert broke his collarbone on the play.
Herbert is expected to miss the next four to six weeks recovering from the injury. If there is a silver lining, the injury occurred to his non-throwing shoulder.
The injury comes at a tough time for the Ducks, who now will face some tough opponents without their starting quarterback.
