EUGENE -- Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert suffered a bruised right shoulder that knocked him out of Civil War against Oregon State but it did not result in any serious damage, multiple sources with knowledge of the situation told The Oregonian.
Herbert left Friday's 55-15 Ducks win over the rival Beavers after being sacked by Oregon State's Shemar Smith and Doug Taumoelau on third-and-seven from the Oregon 45-yard line with 4:09 to go in the first half.
He was 9 of 12 for 102 yards with a touchdown before the injury, which took Herbert out of the game but is not expected to have any lasting implications on Herbert or impact on Oregon's bowl game, the sources said.
