EUGENE -- Oregon's running back corps continues to be on the mend, with CJ Verdell returning to practice after missing a day due to a neck injury and fellow freshman Travis Dye getting more reps in the event he has to shoulder the biggest load this week.
If Verdell, who returned to practice Wednesday but was limited, does play against Arizona State, Mario Cristobal said the redshirt-freshman will still be capable of handling a high number of carries.
"If he's healthy, he's a guy that could carry a major load," Cristobal said. "At the same time, Travis has had a great week of practice; so has (Tony Brooks-James).
