EUGENE -- Oregon point guard and leading returning scorer Payton Pritchard is expected to play in Tuesday's season opener after missing last week's exhibition due to bruised ribs.
Ducks coach Dana Altman said Pritchard, who averaged 14.5 points, 4.8 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game last season, practiced Saturday and is expected to play against Portland State on Tuesday (8 p.m., Pac-12 Network).
With Pritchard out, Ehab Amin started at point guard for the Ducks and had 11 points, four assists and three rebounds. Walk-on Will Johnson contributed 14 minutes off the bench as well.
Amin, a graduate transfer, led the country in steals two seasons ago at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
