SAN FRANCISCO -- Pac-12 women's basketball media day kicked off Wednesday with the release of the preseason coaches poll, where Oregon is the headliner as the heavy favorite.
The Ducks gathered the maximum 121 points and 11 first-place votes in the poll of Pac-12 coaches. Oregon returns four starters from last year's Pac-12 and Elite Eight team, including league player of the year Sabrina Ionescu.
Oregon State, coming off an Elite Eight season in 2017-18, placed third in the poll with 104 votes, three behind No. 2 Stanford. Like Oregon, the Beavers return four starters and add a significant piece in transfer Destiny Slocum, the 2016-17 national freshman of the year from Maryland.
