Oregon Football won the opening kickoff and elected to start the game with the ball.
Travis Dye would be the first to see the ball on a 21-yard return bringing out Quarterback Justin Herbert and the offense. The opening drive saw Herbert go a perfect 5 for 5 along with a solid dose of Travis Dye. Herbert found Jacob Breeland in the endzone to give Oregon a 6-0 lead.
Montana was able to move the ball on their first drive to their own 41, but a Mase Funa sack ended their first drive of the game. Samuel Akem caught a 26-yard pass before the sack on Dalton Sneed.
