Last week the University of Oregon and Oregon State University made a decision. Both schools will no longer refer to the annual game between the schools as the Civil War.
Since the announcement, fans have come out in both support of the change, as well as asking why. With the current political climate, it was clearly a time to make a change that will ultimately be better for both programs moving forward.
