Mitchell announced that he will forgo his Senior season with Oregon Football and make preparations for the NFL Draft in 2019. In the bowl game, Mitchell became the all-time leading receiver in Oregon History, despite playing the game injured. He caught the game-winning touchdown despite a stingy Michigan State Defense that kept Oregon out of the field position game for most of the contest. The Oregon scoring drive started from their own 23-yard line.
Dillon Mitchell was asked after the game about his intent, then he said he would talk things over with his family. With Quarterback Justin Herbert returning, along with the entire Oregon Offensive Line, I would have hoped that team chemistry and having what could have been a more healthy season for Mitchell may have compelled him to remain a Duck for the 2019 season, but I understand the NFL Dream.
