Oregon Ducks women are second, UO men eighth in the latest college cross country rankings

The Oregon Ducks women held onto the No. 2 spot and the UO men are eighth in the latest college cross country rankings.

The rankings were released Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The Ducks only scheduled meet so far this season, last week's Oregon Preview, was canceled because of smoke from wildfires.

The UO women, led by Katie Rainsberger and Alli Cash, are the reigning national champions, but trail Colorado in the poll. The remainder of the top five is, in order, New Mexico, Michigan and Stanford.

The men's top five looks like this: Northern Arizona, Stanford, Syracuse, Colorado and Arkansas.
