#4 Oregon hosted #1 Baylor on Saturday night in Eugene. Although the Ducks competed well, they could not quite get over the hump against last season’s champion.
A&T is divided into six categories that add up to the final team score. Those categories are:
- Compulsory - The teams perform skills in a specific order (standing tuck, toe-touch, handspring tuck, etc.)
- Acro - The teams perform a 45-second sequence
- Pyramid - The teams change their pyramid structure or flyer phase
- Toss - Exactly as implied; the teams toss a flyer
- Tumbling - The teams perform synchronized and individual tumbling passes
- Team - The teams perform synchronized choreographed skills
The categories are scored against a “Start Value”, which is the maximum score possible after a “+/-” modifier is added to reflect the degree of difficulty of the skills performed.
