Both teams have a chance to snap three-game losing streaks and move one win closer to bowl eligibility. The subplot, of course, is the return of former Oregon receiver Darren Carrington, who was dismissed in July by coach Willie Taggart following a DUII arrest before transferring to Utah. Carrington, who has flourished in Utah's passing game, will want to put up big numbers in his former home stadium, while his former teammates on the UO defense have a chance to earn their own bragging rights.
Taggart has not ruled out quarterback Justin Herbert from playing, although freshman Braxton Burmeister is expected to make his fourth consecutive start.
