TUALATIN -- Troy Brown Jr. rolled through Portland on Thursday, the most recent detour on an arduous 10-city expedition that still has two more stops scheduled over the next week.
There have been workouts and physicals. Plane rides and hotel stays. Meetings with reporters and sit downs with general managers.
It's part of the ultimate job interview. And while it sounds exhausting, as the process nears its conclusion, Brown remains as eager and upbeat about his professional prospects as he did when he declared for the NBA Draft in April. Some may have questioned why an 18 year-old kid would leave college after a so-so freshman season with the Oregon Ducks -- even he says he "didn't have a great year" -- but Brown believes he has quieted his critics the last two months as he's zigzagged NBA cities for predraft workouts, including Thursday's visit with the Portland Trail Blazers.
