Oregon tight end Cam McCormick will miss the rest of the 2018 season after breaking a bone in his left leg against Bowling Green, Ducks coach Mario Cristobal said Monday.
McCormick, a sophomore, left preseason camp as the starter but spent the majority of Oregon's 58-24 season-opening victory on the sideline with a boot on his left leg.
The injury is a blow to Oregon not only because of McCormick's talent -- the Bend native was praised for his pass-catching and improvement in blocking, in particular, in August -- but because UO has designed its offense to use multiple tight ends in several formations.
