The women's 800-meter final is loaded with Oregon presence as Raevyn Rogers, Hanna Green and Sabrina Southerland breezed through their semifinal heats Friday at the USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships in Des Moines, Iowa.
Rogers, a former Oregon Duck and a six-time NCAA champion, won her heat in a time of 2 minutes. 0.17 seconds. Green, who trains with OTC Elite, ran fourth in Rogers' heat to qualify for the finals.
In the other semifinal, Duck runner Sabrina Southerland claimed third to advance to the final. Southerland won the NCAA 800 indoor title in March.
The men's 800 final also has a local tie, as Clayton Murphy of Nike Oregon Project ran his semifinal heat in 1:47.
