HOLLYWOOD -- Scott Pagano, the highly sought-after defensive lineman who transferred from national champion Clemson to Oregon this offseason, is recovering well from offseason foot surgery, Oregon coach Willie Taggart said Thursday, yet still could miss UO's season opener.
Pagano, a 6-foot-3, 293-pound Hawaii native, underwent surgery earlier this summer to repair a fracture near his toe, Taggart said. Pagano broke a bone in his foot Nov. 12 against Pittsburgh and missed three games en route to Clemson College Football Playoff national championship.
"Something he had that he needed to be corrected," Taggart said at Pac-12 football media days.
