The Oregon Ducks bolstered their distance program Monday by announcing the hire of the University of San Franciso's Helen Lehman-Winters as associate head coach for cross country and track and field.
Lehman-Winters joins former Virginia Tech distance coach Ben Johnson, hired last week as UO associate head coach for cross country and track and field.
Lehman-Winters and Johnson replace the husband-and-wife distance-coaching tandem of Andy and Maurica Powell, who left Oregon after the end of the 2018 outdoor season to take over the track and field and cross program at Washington.
Lehman-Winters spent 15 seasons as head track and cross country coach at USF.
