EUGENE — To even put itself in consideration of reaching the NCAA baseball tournament, Oregon spent the last month of its regular season operating under the assumption that one or two losses would end its postseason dreams.
Now that the Ducks are officially in the 64-team field that attitude, and their success operating under that kind of pressure, could continue to be quite useful.
Oregon, with a record of 37-23 and RPI of 66, opens the four-team Springfield, Missouri, NCAA regional Friday as a third-seed against second-seeded Iowa (39-16, RPI 29). First pitch is 10 a.m. PT and will be broadcast online by ESPN3.
