Three key assistants on Willie Taggart's Oregon staff will officially be back in 2018 under new coach Mario Cristobal.
UO on Monday night announced that defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Jim Leavitt, defensive line and associate head coach Joe Salave'a, and offensive coordinator and quarterbacks/tight ends coach Marcus Arroyo all will return next season in Eugene.
Leavitt's contract has been extended through 2021, as reported Sunday by The Oregonian/OregonLive. He will earn an average of $1.7 million annually as part of his extension, making him currently one of the three highest-paid assistant coaches in college football. The contracts for Arroyo and Salave'a each have been extended through the 2020 season.
