The University of Oregon's record-setting Raevyn Rogers won The Bowerman award as the 2017 college track and field women's athlete of the year at a ceremony Friday night in Phoenix, Arizona.

Rogers is a five-time NCAA champion in the 800 meters. She successfully defended her NCAA titles indoors and outdoors in 2017.

In April, she clocked a time of 1 minute 59.10 seconds in the 800 to break the record of 1:59.11 that Suzy Favor Hamilton had held since 1990.

In addition to winning the NCAA 800 title in June, Rogers anchored Oregon's 4x400 relay to a collegiate record time of 3:23.
