Oregon Drubbed by #16 Maryland, 79-61

Oregon women’s basketball remains winless in the month of February, after yet another slow start that put the Ducks too far behind Maryland to even think about being in the game.

Oregon only hit three buckets in the first quarter, and two of those were from beyond the arc. The Ducks scored nine points in the quarter, and they were immediately down 19-9 going into the second period. They did not do much better in the 2nd period, only hitting four shots from the field, and were down 39-22 at the half.

The Ducks played more competitively in the second half of the game, mostly because the starters sat on the bench for most of the second half, while some very productive youngsters - Ari Long, Sofia Bell, and Ehis Etute - stepped up.
