EUGENE -- Oregon defensive end Drayton Carlberg was ejected from Saturday's game with Washington for targeting Huskies quarterback Jake Browning.
The penalty came as time expired at the end of the first quarter. Browning took a dropped back deep on first-and-10 from Washington's 35-yard line and Carlberg sacked him for a loss of eight yards and appeared to make helmet-to-helmet contact.
The play was reviewed and called targeting, leading to Carlberg being ejected. Washington ran for a loss of two years on the ensuing untimed down to end the quarter and Oregon forced a punt on the drive.
