BERKELEY, CALIFORNIA - The Ducks came into this contest hoping to avoid something they hadn’t done since the 2016-17 season: lose three games in a row. Not only did they escape that grim fate, but they also handed (a not very good) California team their biggest loss of the season.
Oregon scored the first six points of the contest, but with 3:10 left in the first quarter the winless Golden Bears were within three points of the No. 11 Ducks. But Oregon’s defense tightened up and managed to put together an 8-0 run to close out the quarter with a 26-15 advantage after a Kylee Watson layup.
