The Oregon Club of Portland, a booster and major fundraising organization for Oregon Ducks athletics since its founding 72 years ago, is ending operations.
The decision comes as UO's in-house Duck Athletic Fund takes over more of the club's roles with boosters in the metro area.
UO athletics spokesman Jimmy Stanton said the club is closing for financial reasons, citing high costs of overhead. He added the Duck Athletic Fund will continue to be a presence for fans and boosters in the area. Several members of the club's board of directors either declined comment or did not return messages.
