On Wednesday, the Register-Guard reported the University of Oregon had reached out and offered a multi-year extension to George Horton. The last few seasons have not lived up to expectation for what Horton believes that Oregon Baseball should be and it appears the Ducks are considering keeping him at the helm.
The new contract is not as large as the one that will expire in September. Horton made just over a half a million dollars this past season. The team went 30-25 and missed the postseason and a shot at the College World Series. While the new terms were not disclosed, is would keep George Horton in Eugene through the 2019 season.
