-- The G-T's Jesse Sowa has a nice piece about Oregon State sprinter Venessa D'Arpino, who is coming back from what sounds like an horrific back injury suffered last year in the weight room.

D'Arpino won the 200 meters Saturday at OSU's High Performance Meet.

-- Amalie Iuel of USC is the two-time reigning Pac-12 heptathlon champion. This year she is targeting the 400 hurdles. That alone would make her interesting.
