In his weekly Pac-12 notes column, Scott Wolf of the Los Angeles Daily News decries the lack of a big-event atmosphere at many Pac-12 games, and suggests it's an issue for the conference.

I agree with him to a point, although I don't think stadium size has much to do with the atmosphere at a college football game.
I've seen games with an electric atmosphere In Pullman, Corvallis and Eugene, none of which has a mega-stadium.
And I watched the 1994 Oregon State-UCLA game in the Rose Bowl, where the atmosphere was funereal.
