According to the release from US Track and Field, there are a total of eighty-four first time Olympians that will make up the one-hundred thirty seven that are headed to Rio next month. Of those, ten current or former Oregon Ducks competed out of forty to make the team based on performance. One was added on Monday.
Oregon Athlete Ariana Washington, who found herself in the mix in both the 100 Meter and 200 Meter Semifinals will head along with her team mates to the Olympic Summer Games as part of the 4×100 Relay Team. Allison Felix to came in 4th in the 200 Meters to Jenna Prandini by just one-hundredth of a second in the final on Sunday will head to Rio as part of the 4×400 Relay team.
