EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon pitcher Stephen Nogosek has been named to the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team in advance of the team’s five-game series with the Cuban National Team that starts Wednesday. Nogosek becomes the sixth Duck to play for Team USA since 2010.
Nogosek earned a spot on the 26-man roster during a 10-game training camp that featured seven games against Chinese Taipei. The Ducks’ right-handed pitcher didn’t allow a run in three appearances during the 10-game tryout. He struck out seven in 5.1 innings while allowing just four hits.
