EUGENE -- No. 3 Oregon softball has relied on its freshmen all season, but never moreso than Saturday afternoon at Jane Sanders Stadium.
In just her second postseason game as a Duck, Shannon Rhodes lifted a 3-1 pitch from the right arm of Wisconsin's Kaitlyn Menz into the left-field corner for a game-tying, two-out double that ultimately lifted the Ducks to a come-from-behind, 6-5 victory.
After Wisconsin (34-16) failed to secure a walk-off win in the bottom of the seventh, Oregon (49-6) answered with its game-winning run on a double by Danica Mercado that scored Miranda Elish on a controversial play at the plate.
