No. 2 Oregon Ducks sweep softball series against No. 4 Washington

The No. 2 Oregon Ducks scored all five of their runs in the third inning and completed the softball series sweep against the fourth-ranked Washington Huskies with a 5-3 victory Sunday in Seattle.

The win left the Ducks tied with No. 1 UCLA atop the conference standings, at 15-3 in Pac-12 play.

Oregon's explosive third inning started when Jenna Lilley's two-run double put the Ducks in front 2-1. Then DJ Sanders belted a two-run homer and Gwen Svekis scored on a passed ball.

Washington loaded the bases with one out in the fifth inning, but Megan Kleist got Kirstyn Thomas to hit into a double play to escape the jam.
