It's been a year since Galen Rupp became the first U.S. man to win the Chicago Marathon since Khalid Khannouchi in 2002, and he hasn't forgotten the feeling.
"It was special to win there," Rupp said.
Rupp defends his Chicago Marathon title on Sunday against a top field including - among others - two-time world champion Abel Kirui, Geoffrey Kirui, reigning world champion and 2017 Boston Marathon winner, and four-time Olympic gold medalist Mo Farah, Rupp's former training partner.
There are five men in the field with faster personal records than Rupp, who clocked his 26.
