The Oregon Ducks began the NCAA Tournament as the number one overall seed, besting UCLA in the final weekend of the regular season to earn the top spot. Despite stumbling into the second round with an opening loss against 16 seeded Kentucky, Oregon bounced back to win back to back games behind Miranda Elish.
Elish, along with Starter Megan Kleist entered the postseason with important numbers. Both had ERA’s under 1 at .096. While Kleist gave up 7 hits and 7 runs in the opener against Kentucky, her confidence entering the Women’s College World Series is strong. She has been here before and knows what it takes to find success.
