Mario Cristobal isn’t the only powerhouse recruiter in green and yellow; Dana Altman added another five-star player to the 2021 roster. Nate Bittle, ESPN’s No. 8 prospect and the No. 2 ranked center, chose the Ducks over powerhouse programs like Gonzaga, UCLA and Arizona.
Bittle is Oregon’s first commitment in the class of 2021, and the ESPN recruiting database (which began in 2007) lists him as the second highest-ranked prospect to commit to the Ducks.
The 6-foot-11 Oregon native played ball at Prolific Prep in California and has the skills to play a familiar role in Altman’s roster; Bittle has a 7’5 wingspan which helps him defend the rim, though he’s gained a lot of praise for his shot-making ability and his efficient passing.
