College football recruiting has made celebrities out of top-rated high school athletes around the country, and for some, that leads to unwanted attention.
For Mater Dei linebacker Mase Funa, the highest-rated linebacker commit in Oregon Ducks history, that spotlight made it difficult to divulge his desire to check out the USC Trojans on a visit over the weekend.
"I didn't really feel comfortable putting it out there in the media, especially since I'm committed right now," he said.
However, Funa admitted Monday evening that he is torn between the two schools, and was impressed by what USC had to offer.
