Making the case for Oregon distance runner Edward Cheserek: Oregon track & field rundown

Will Oregon distance runner Edward Cheserek ever win The Bowerman?

The experts at LetsRun.com discuss the possibility Cheserek could become a four-time finalist and still come up empty in their their recap of last weekend's NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.

The Bowerman is college track and field's equivalent of the Heisman Trophy. It's given annually to the top male college athlete and top female college athlete in the sport.

A senior, Cheserek is a three-time finalist. He never has won.

You can make a case for each of the past three male Bowerman winners -- Deon Lendore of Texas A&M, Marquis Dendy of Florida and Jarrion Lawson of Arkansas.
